KDEN TV Tower KDEN is a full-power television station based in Longmont, Colorado, that operates with 5000 kw of power and owned and operated by NBC Universal, broadcasting on analog channel 25, digital 29, Cable 11. It is affiliated with NBC Universal's Spanish-language network, Telemundo.
NBC purchased KDEN from Longmont Broadcasting in Janruary 2006, making it NBC's second owned-and-operated station in Denver, the first in that market since NBC operated KCNC-TV during the late 1980s and early 1990s, and their seventeenth Spanish-language TV station. The company owns Telemundo outlets in most of the top markets, including New York and Los Angeles, and has been eyeing more acquisitions in fast-growing Hispanic markets such as Denver, the 16th largest U.S. Hispanic market.
KDEN is a full-power station and is available on the local cable systems and on EchoStar and DirecTV's satellite services. The station has replaced the company's former Telemundo stations, low power outlets KMAS-LP channel 63 and KSBS-LP channel 67.
In the early morning hours on Tuesday June 19,2007 Comcast switched KDEN-TV From Cable Channel 20 To cable channel 11 in Denver. Possibly so it could be closer to KUSA-TV NBC's Affillate in Denver.
